Public Health Annual Fund
The Public Health Program has grown dramatically in recent years, due to both greater external interest in public health issues such as obesity, tobacco and substance abuse, and aging, and an increase in institutional investments as part of the Plan for Academic Enrichment.
The Program's ten active, nationally renowned public health research centers currently have external funding of $40 million annually.
The Brown Public Health Annual Fund (BPHAF) puts current use dollars to work immediately, providing funding for faculty development activities and for faculty research and travel. The Fund also provides student scholarship funds for students pursuing a master's in public health and graduate students in other master's and doctoral level programs throughout Public Health. Gifts to the Public Health Annual Fund count as gifts to Boldly Brown: Campaign for Academic Enrichment, and supporters are included in the annual Honor Roll of Donors. Increased investment in public health is a cornerstone of President Simmons' Plan for Academic Enrichment, and the Public Health Annual Fund is yet another means of achieving these goals.
